Wednesday Meeting
August 25, 2010Mr. Thane Caird of TG’s Carpet Cleaning & Restoration Services was our showboater Wednesday morning. As well as tile, upholstery and carpet cleaning and area rug cleaning through Arizona Rug Spa, TG’s is licensed and certified in all types of restoration work: fire, smoke, water and flood, and mold.
Thane brought in several very special pieces of equipment they use in assessing the type and extent of damage before starting work. He brought a camera with a flexible tube that is used to look behind walls. There was much laughter as people played with that. He had an infared camera which shows areas that are wet or moldy by the variation in color. Prints can be made from that camera so that they can be compared to the after photos. He also brought in an air humidity meter with different types of probes to test the humidity levels in various mediums – sheet rock, plaster, wood, etc. One technician tests before and a second technician tests after treatments to be sure that everything has been taken care of.
Mr. Jeff Teele of Coldwell Banker First Affiliate was our speaker Wednesday morning. Jeff is very active in various community organizations. He told us about his election day, which started about 5:00 am and ended at approximately 11:00 pm. Jeff supervises and troubleshoots the Sedona and Village of Oak Creek polling places. He enjoys figuring out why something is not working properly and finding a solution. There was some new scanning equipment used this election so that drivers licenses, etc., do not need to be transferred by hand. When asked about his favorite dessert, he said bagels and cream cheese
